Our Program
Learn with Us
Our program concept is simple: monthly seminar-style Jewish learning for teens. Each session focuses on one of our key pillars and encourages students to learn from one another in engaging discussions. Each cohort is led by a trained facilitator who serves as a Jewish role model for the students. Cost varies depending on the program site, but this program is designed to be affordable. We don't want cost to be a barrier, so we will work with you.

The program is enriched by field trips throughout Los Angeles, social events with multiple JTLC chapters, and a special Shabbat experience.
"It's cool learning about Jewish history and traditions and how I fit in as a piece of the puzzle"

Sample Sessions
Throughout the year, sessions will focus on:
Current
Events
Students will focus on current events, from the war in Israel to the 2024 election, through a Jewish lens. Students will be able to share about events that are interesting to them and teach the group about the issues they're most passionate about.
Jewish Life in America
Jewish life in America has been completely unique in the course of Jewish history, as the United States has been both a haven and a home. Students will learn about the Golden Age of American Jews- the transformative experience of immigrating to America, assimilating into larger society, and the struggle and opportunities they encountered in this country.
Identity & Peoplehood
Through thought-provoking discussions and guest speakers, students will focus on what it means to be a Jew and what it means to be part of Am Yisrael, the people of Israel.
Jewish Trailblazers
From Abraham to Ruth Bader Ginsburg and everyone in between, students will learn about key Jewish trailblazers who have impacted the world.
Global Jewish Communities
Through immersive experiences , students will see, smell, touch, taste, listen, and experience Jewish communities from around the world.
The Holocaust & Antisemitism Today
Learning about the Holocaust is an essential part of our program. By learning about the past, students will develop a deeper understanding of rising antisemitism today and will learn tools to combat it.
Israel & You
Through nuanced discussions, guest presenters, and engaging video content, students will learn about Zionism, the ancient history, and modern events in Israel and explore their own personal connection to the land and people. We will look at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from all angles and give students the tools to converse about and advocate for Israel on campus.
Jewish Values
A key part of the program is exploring Jewish values and becoming a mensch! By exploring what Judaism says about relationships, tzedakah, and being created in the image of God, students will depend their connection to Judaism and grow throughout their teen years with guidance from the JTLC.
